Top 10 Things to Do for Your 91制片厂Pro Move-in

Move-in is one of the most exciting times of year on campus. A new academic year, meeting new people, seeing friends you have been apart from all summer, setting up your new living space, and so much more! Move-in can also be a busy day for many students and their families. Naturally, there鈥檚 a lot to do to make sure you鈥檙e ready to begin your year as a Bearcat. Below, I鈥檝e listed the top 10 ways you can set your year off to a good start.

1. Make a plan

How are you getting to campus? What day and time are you assigned to arrive and move in? Not sure? You can find it on the . Be sure to have the handy so you know exactly how to get to your residence hall.

2. Pack some keepsakes

We are so excited you are living on campus with us and creating your new home! It can be hard to make a new place feel comfortable right away. Give it some time, but also try to pack something that reminds you of where you are coming from. This is your new home now, and we are so glad you are here!

3. Get familiar with your community

Learn the name of your residence hall and residential community. Pride and spirit in the place where you live can add so much fun to your experience. Each community has its own spirit color, and getting involved with Co-Rec Sports and Activities is a great way to show off your community pride.

4. Learn your symbol

Be on the lookout for your building and community-specific signage, color-coded to your community鈥檚 color and with your community鈥檚 unique symbol.

5. Check for room damage

Once you鈥檙e in your room, take the time to scan for damages and report them on an as soon as possible. RCRs note the condition of the room and furniture at the time you move in and are used to figure out how much to bill the previous occupant for any damage. If you don鈥檛 fill out your RCR, the bill may fall on you.

6. Know your resources

Attend your hall鈥檚 floor meeting and get to know the Residential Life student staff. They will have lots of information for you on campus resources and activities, including helping you learn more about Residential Life鈥檚 student staffing model. There are so many ways Residential Life can help you transition to life at 91制片厂Pro University.

7. Meet new people

Get to know your neighbors and roommates 鈥 there are lots of events and programs happening during move-in weekend and as we head into the first few weeks of classes. Certainly, it is great to attend solo, but also fantastic to participate in these offerings with new friends!

8. Visit local shops

Did you finish unpacking and realize you forgot something important? Don鈥檛 worry, you can check out the in the Union, right next to Visions Bank, and lots of other local stores, as well as an easy-to-access bus system.

9. Find your new meal spot

10. Say your farewells

Move-in can be a group experience, whether it鈥檚 your family or friends here to help you. It can often be challenging to see them leave, and maybe sometimes even harder for them. Take advantage of our photo opportunity at the 鈥渂ig chair鈥 by the Admission Center during move-in and have a keepsake for when you send your family and friends on their way, and settle into life as a Bearcat!
